Character Corner Bookmarks

I have been making corner book marks as of late. I wanted to try my hand at hand made crafts. The only thing I don't like about it is the length of time it takes for me to build the book mark. It's not as easy as you think.

Shinhwa Fan Art: Minwoo

A Character version of Lee Minwoo, a member of Shinhwa from the "Eusha! Eusha!" era.
I took too long on this. I had trouble on how the text should look, the size, the color...etc. This was done on Adobe Illustrator and I admit I am not pro on that program. I def had got better with the pin tool! My goal is to do more character fanart of the group and make prints, post cards, and buttons out of my creations.

Urban Art Gallery- February 27th

At the Urban Art Gallery in West Philadelphia for the Youth Angels Scholars Art exhibit and fundraiser. Here I am, showcasing and selling my art.

I've met a talented artist named Chad Cortez Everette. He became a mentor to me during the Saturday Art classes that I attended last month. I learned a lot and he's teaching me how to network and get my art out there. His website link is below.

Afro-Asian Cross-Over current paintings for the series.

Greetings! It's been a while. At the end of February, I have an opportunity to showcase some of my art work at the Urban Art Gallery in Philadelphia. I'm vigorously trying to produce work between my Job schedule. The procrastination was strong during this winter season, but some days I pulled through. Like today for example. Here are some pics of what is completed or semi completed.

Locust Moon Comic Festival

I attended the Locust Moon Comic Festival in Philadelphia last Saturday. It's a celebration of fan artist and indie and professional comic book artists! I surprisingly found out that Graphi Novelist David Mack was there. I'm a big fan of his gorgeous series, "Kabuki"!! I purchased his art book cause his ink and watercolor paintings just makes me drool. He was really nice too!!

Then a lot of the amateur comic artist really impressed me with their indie comics. I def made some purchases. I have to support the local artist. One day I hope to get my act together and have a table next year! Below are my purchases and free posters!

Working on a Character Logo and Artist Block.

One of peers wanted me to help create a logo for her future business card. I'll admit I procrastinated on this project and other art projects for a long time. I have serious artist block. It has been like this for two months now. Especially since I went back to my crappy old Job. It's like all the creativity in my body has been sucked out of me. Below is a preview of the logo for Coach J. She works in the education field. I'm still working on it.

So, I can't really do First Friday anymore. Friday work is required at the Job I have. Slowly I'm becoming unhappy again. I'm not motivated at all. When will I be able to work at a place I care about? Education field or the Art field. I rather be in those two worlds rather than fast food.

First Friday is an event in Philly where all local artist get togethor and hustle. I finally started to do the event this year to put myself out there. This past Friday was my second time doing it.
